Its almost Spring!

Although it was 4 degrees Celsius this morning and a white frost covered the yard, here in our bird feeder, the birds are so hungry...

these are 3 Galahs, and at first when I took this - no I am not using digital yet...and take my film in to be develloped the olde worlde way still : ) , at first they were really skittish and this was as close as I could get...

I have seen Satin Bower Birds male and harem in there, Magpies, pigeins, Wattle Birds, and some I don't know...Don would have loved it. He was the original Bird Man. We have Diedre Hunt Bird Plates... statues from Franklin Mint of Blue Wrens and others... really I think he didn't really "hate " cats like someone some of us know...who shall remain nameless for "yate - ing" cats...because he was really upset when our poor old Archimedes, a 20yr old cat got so sick in February...

He just loved birds and cats eat birds...and he did get to outlive the cat who for some perverse reason really liked Don, despite all his teasing of her.

This next is just a really special place in our yard...and when it rains because we are on a flood plain the water lays about and looks like a small lake reflecting the sky...the wind blows ripples accross it and all the birdlife you can imagine come in to feed.

Oh, I so love these images..and yes, Spring is almost here. I took some roses from the garden to our Kinder teacher and she said, "Wow, they are gorgeous..is it Spring early or what?" It macde me think, it made me walk around the neighbourhood looking for the signs of Spring..yes, they are there for sure.
The image of the pathway through the gate...I loved that too, it makes yu look through and know there is good when you walk out through the other side..that things will be ok :)

Hey MC: Wow, truly momenteous sunset and scenery in your latest blog pix. I laugh at your description of Don's disliking his fat puddy-tat...your property is gorgeous...makes me want to take many a long walk there. I love the country same as you do. Such tranquility in nature...these birds are amazing to look at --thanks!
