A couple of http://quickwhippedupfaeries.blogspot.com/ just posted for your interest.

Some pictures taken of the sunset, the day after Don died, May 17th.
Some people like these pictures, but I found them a bit freaky.
In my time out here at Craggy Island I have never seen a sunset like this...
The kids (Melissa , Alison and Andrew called me outside especially).
This was a quiet day...you know if you have ever lost someone you loved deeply, there is that one day just after the death and before funerals and relatives when there is this small window of stillness...this day or afternoon was like this.
Alison and Andrew stood for ages like this and the moment felt sacred... a little dignity after so much dignity was taken away...

That is one tremendous sunset. I know that stillness, like time slows down to let you catch up.

Wow, that is the craziest sunset I've ever seen! It looks like the Earth became Jupiter or something for an evening!

yep, that's a suitably powerful sky for powerful emotions, MC

I was here before and was a wee bit stuck what to say nothing seemed to be right. Mainly because off the difference between your words and the picture.

So all I can say is "Ain't nature grand?" and it's free.. oh we Scots as you have pointed out ;)

What I meant Mirk was that yes the sky was freaky, but it was also a "still" time. Anon got the right word..."Powerful"

when I was there (Melissa took the photos) it felt really amazing, but also "freaky" if that makes sense... Nope...no sense at all at all.

Oh I know it was powerful but I do not have the way with words to put it the way anon has. :( Anon hit the nail on the heid as they always do!
