I'm not sure how clear this old photo is but for some reason I like it. It was taken in the years before the first world war, and is of my husband's paternal grandmother when she was oyung...most photos were rigidly posed for in these days but this is so natural and no doubt just a box brownie or something.
her name at this time was Jean Grey Walker and she had arrived from Ayr in Scotland with her brothers and sisters and parents to start a new life in Queensland. Must have been a shock... the weather difference and other things...
I only met her as an elderly woman...

Remarkable pic love, I think the weather would sure have been a shock. Looks like she was enjoying hereself there :)

Beautiful photo....I also like the one of you on First Communion. Looks like your mother had you all foofed up like mine did...all lace and bows and either a prayer book or holy card in my hand!
