Mother's Day... I was out of the house by 6am and down to the markets where I had my stand gathering petitions for the Inquiry into Don's killing at the hands of the good folk at Royal North Shore Hospital...

but when I got back home about 2.... here was a lovely gift from Alison of some wooden Russian dolls... I love them

And some so beautiful flowers from Melissa and a bottle of plonk all tizzied up in gauze and topped with a balloon...mmm

I bought myself some South west Rocks (just up the road) king prawns and a doz oysters and plan on having a beano for tea...

Mothers day by any other name can be as sweet...

Melissa will be home next weekend for Don's first anniversary... and my youngest would be but its so far from Melbourne and she has been quite sick of late... I feel for her more... when you feel as well as I have of late...you know... health is all... (with a pinch of common sense!)

glad to see you had a happy mother's day.

Not even the slightest hint that mother's day exists here, maybe by the end of the day. Maybe by the end of the day or maybe I'm just not that important these days. :(

Thanks Wanna be slimmer... I did have a yummy tea... easy peasy...just prawns lettuce, advocado tomate and cheese and a glass ot three of the plonk almost no work, almost no washing up andall the food groups...ha

Jacqui I hope that improved by the end of the day. Tell the little B's...I used to sit back and feel sad about missed things, but then a friend said to me do something about it. Just ring thenm up and say to the "Where's my bloody mothers day present?" If they are short of $$$ it doesn't have to be much... like when they were little...just something a thought wrapped up with a card telling you good stuff..

They might get their knickers in a knot for a day or two but years down the track after they laugh about it, they will appreciate it...they are never too old to boss about... re dinner well like me sometimes just treat yourself...but make it easy...

oh good onya Middle Mum.
I had a lovely MD lunch with 2 other mothers and we all agreed the whole shebang was better without our children.
I have 3 adult children and not even an email.
all useless like their father.

I do like that elegant Erte type card on your table there. It is a woman who clearly never goes near the vacuumcleaner or washing machine, and more power to her.
mwah mwah

Sorry they didn't bother...its hurtful.

Jahteh, no chocolate here...but please tell me what is Bombay (sounds slightly alcoholic)?

Caz - I did have a very elegant sufficiency of South west rock prawns and a nice tipple...and you?

Sounds like you had a good Mother's Day....I got pics of the grandchildren...wonderful. What does tizzied up mean and what is a bottle of plonk? sounds like i would like it!

Rosemary... tizzied up means got up like a lamb's dinner... and a botle of plonk usually means cheap booze...
