Am starting to feel the Chill of Melbourne Winter

But my youngest says this is just the start - I think its the constantly cold toes and nose that gets me the most and this place hasn't got great insulation - not to worry its always better than being hot. Its wonderful to see all the tree lined streets all yellows and golds - something we didn't see in port Macquarie - it never got quite cold enough for the brilliant colours of Autumn to show - and the streets are pretty shy of trees such as you see here.

Am praying in my own way that my eldest's husband comes out of hospital okay tomorrow - a small cut on his thumb...but with Diabetes it has him in hospital on an antibiotic drip - after just recently beginning to get back to work after losing his leg last March, he doesn't need this setback...and I know its hard on my daughter as its a lot of travelling through city traffic back and forwards - and coming home late - as well it brings back to her the terrible time of visiting her Dad in hospital as he was dying - so much damage done there to her and all of us I guess.

I have grown very fond of my two sons in law - find it really concerns me that one is struggling right now
I am waiting for her to arrive home and find out when he comes home and if I will go up to Sydney depending on whats going on with them.

Mom thank you -
they have gotten on top of the original infection but he now has caught hospital superbug MRSA - honestly Australian hospitals are riddled with this - I get frightened by this as Don was septic with MRSA when he died

It must scare the life out of you anytime anyone you love goes into hospital after what Don went through.
Hope your SIL comes out of this okay.

hope he gets better soon. Its not just Australian hospitals, its all western hospitals that are rift with it, just some countries are not as open about it. Over here, you have to dig hard to find out facts like that. Its one of the reasons they discharge you so quickly over here as then there is no real proof that you caught the infection in the hospital as most homes are also infected, especially those with pets.
If you don't have proof the infection came from the hospital, you can't sue. All money driven over here :(

best wishes for s-i-law fast recovery and future safety.
Re the Melbourne cold: a hat preserves 80% of body heat so get a woolly hat, a matching scarf of course, and fingerless gloves are the Melbourne Bloggers friend.
My Nan used to say "there is no Bad Weather, only Wrong Clothes, now put on another jumper and go outside and play".
Now you can look forward to The Spring Thaw and daffodils ...

Ann - got some ugg boots - nearly fell over about the price but once on i didn't need heating - it was my feet that were the problem - hmm sounds like an old age thingie - thanks for the advice.

Jaqui - its enough to make you feel sick how with all the hi tech they still don't spend the dollars on hiring enough people to clean thoroughly

Glad you are settling into Melbourne well, it's a beautiful place to live (although the changing seasons took me by surprise when I was there, I had no idea it also got cold)!

I shudder reading of your SIL's medical complications - my little sis' is insulin dependent, so I know full well of the woes that can bring. I'm sending as many healing vibes as I can to him, it's HORRIBLE he hs to combat such a nasty infection on top of all he's battled - I contracted one too a few years ago, after surgery which left me all but bedridden for three fecking months - ugh.

Hope all else is well with you and yours, hon. x
